But it is not to Yris that worshippers pray, for this deity has long been destroyed - Cleft in twain by one of the Outcast Gods during an ancient act of treachery. The goddess' roles are instead fulfilled by the twins sired by her destruction, Stamyris and Obityris, but being imperfect halves of a whole, their works are a pale imitation of the true process that Yris once was. ===Stamyris, The Twin Goddess of Birth=== The deity of birth, it is Stamyris that chooses how the beasts of the land breed, and which eggs from a chicken will hatch when broken. One half of a whole, her nature is kindly but short-sighted, innocent of cruelties and pain. Regarding humans, she plays an eternal game with her sister, Obityris, renewing the dead as soon as they expire out of ill-considered generosity and a childish need for entertainment. Her temples are wrought in polished deepslate and coal. ===Tabul, The God of Crafting & Prosperity=== Another child of Velsora, Tabul is humble by nature, a carpenter god that lays blueprints within the minds of men to carve wood and stone into tools and building materials to stave off starvation and [[The Atrophies|The Scourge]] alike. His attitude to humans has ever been favorable, said to have created torches and campfires to protect man from the nightly Scourge, ingraining within them an innate knowledge of how to construct the Crafting Altars that enable human innovation. His presence is most keenly felt within a Crafting Altar, which are dedicated to him. As his nature is humble and rustic, a deity of practicality over aesthetic, a temple to him could be made out of dirt, and still suffice. In the past, unworked Oak Logs have been a popular material. ===Proel, The God of Combat & Courage=== Velsora's youngest of children, Proel is a stern and harsh entity, but the most honorable and valiant, the combat god said to imbue every swing of a blade with power to cut down the foulest of things. His attitude to humans is that of a strict tutor toward pupils, viewing humans as weak and clumsy, but containing the makings of powerful warriors, provided they heed his lessons. It is he that provided us the means to fight The Scourge, rather than just hide and cower in fear of it. The Consular Guardsmen are the most notable adherents to Proel's instructions, even those that are unaware of him.
